應(yīng)中國(guó)科學(xué)院可再生能源重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室和廣東省新能源和可再生能源研究開(kāi)發(fā)與應(yīng)用重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室的邀請(qǐng),加拿大卡爾加里大學(xué)胡勁光副教授將于5月20日(周一)來(lái)訪并舉行學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告會(huì)。報(bào)告會(huì)安排如下:

報(bào)告題目:Biomass valorization via photo/electro/bio hybrid catalytic systems
報(bào)告摘要:It is clear, that by mid-century, to avoid the worst-case scenarios of anthropogenic climate change, our society will have to rely on sustainable and renewable resources rather than fossil fuels. Biomass is a key proposed component of several climate mitigation strategies, with substantial involvement of future energy and material systems. The general objective of my research is utilizing biomass, photo/bio-catalysts, and cell factories to design and fabricate renewable and sustainable bioproducts and systems, via bioinspired routes, for Energy, Environmental, and Biomedical application. These hybrid technology approaches provide potential route to economically viable energy production (hydrogen + biofuels) + biomass CO2 captured negative emission technologies (NET) (biomaterials + biochemicals), thus are clearly an important early step in the complete decarbonization of our society. In this presentation, I will briefly introduce our new technology platform of using photocatalysis and photo/electro-bio hybrid system for biomass valorization. I will also explain how do we use other cutting edge biorefining technologies to decarbonize our society.
報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介:Dr Jinguang Hu is an Associate Professor and Schulich Research Chair in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary, Canada. He leads “Biomass & Biorefinery Research Lab” at UCalgary. His current research focus on biomass valorization, sustainable energy, bioinspired materials/systems, and protein engineering for Energy, Environmental and Biomedical application. He has published >250 peer-reviewed papers including top journals such as Energy and Environmental Science, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, Chem Catalysis, ACS Catalysis, Advanced Energy Material, Advanced Functional Material, Applied Catalyst B. Environment, etc. He is the External Advisory Board member of the Canada Biomass Energy Network, a member of the “China-Canada Joint Centre for BioEnergy”, a Research Fellow of Grizzly Bear Institute of Canada (GBIC), a recipient of “CSChE Innovation Award”, “Schulich Early Research Excellence Award”, “S.C. Trindade Award”, and an active participator in the International Energy Agency (IEA) Bioenergy division. He currently serves as Youth Editorial Board Members of Chemical Synthesis, Bioresources and Bioprocessing, Frontiers of Chemical Science, and Engineering Resource Chemicals and Materials.
